News of All Saints

Happy Easter, all you saints! The Lord is risen indeed! Alleluia!

In the wake of the oddest Holy Week and Easter celebration of our lives I would like to say a huge thank you to all who have helped us stay connected and reminded us that even as we shelter in our homes nothing can stop the Resurrection, or separate us from the love of Christ.

At the risk of leaving something out, here are some examples:

  • Live-streamed Facebook services and reflections, remote Bible Study, Youth Group, and Sunday School lessons by Fr. Christopher and Erin Wolf.
  • Newsletters, emails, Facebook posts, and an Easter letter produced from home or during brief office hours by Emily, Fr. Christopher, and Erin.
  • A phone ministry undertaken by the vestry to check in with every person in our directory.
  • Offers of help by several parishioners for those in need.
  • Continuation of pledges and other contributions, and counting and processing of the offerings by Emily, Ken Bozeman, and Mike Krynock. And financial care by treasurer Alicia Bayambang and the Finance Committee.
  • Attention to continued building needs like our cranky old hot water heater by Jim Baumann, Chris Laswell, and Ken Schoenike.
  • Grounds keeping by the Neiswender family and Rob Brackenridge.
  • Video messages from our Bishop Matt Gunter and from Presiding Bishop Michael Curry.

Thank you, thank you, to these people and to all others who are working to keep their circles connected and safe. Please reach out to let us know if you are in any need. We do not know how long our remote church life will have to continue. It is not ideal. It is not comfortable. But we are still here together in Christ, even as we love each other by staying apart.

My heart, therefore, is glad, and my spirit rejoices; my body also shall rest in hope. Ps 16:9
